Joshua Parker: The Godfather of Kent County

Joshua Parker rose from being a body servant to wealthy and politically powerful Delawareans to receiving political appointments in Washington, D.C. and promoting the recruitment of African Americans in Dover to vote Republican. This lecture gives insight as to how African Americans participated in the political process during the 19th Century and the challenges which they faced.
